The clear spring fed waters of the
Guadalupe River in the beautiful Texas Hill Country are home to a variety
of warm water fish species that are
easy to catch with the fly rod or spinning outfit. While the Lower
Guadalupe below Canyon Lake Dam is known for the outstanding seasonal trout fishing, the Upper Guadalupe
offers the angler exciting fishing action year-round without the
distraction of raucous river traffic. From the bow seat of my
"unsinkable" Radisson canoe you'll glide down the river passing under the shady
boughs of ancient cypress trees casting to smallmouth and largemouth bass, sunfish, rainbow trout, catfish, carp,
and the illusive Guadalupe Bass (also known as the "Texas Trout" for it's
fighting ability). I'm looking forward to introducing you to the Upper
Guadalupe.
